DTF File Preparation Guidelines

How to Submit Print-Ready Artwork for DTF Gang Sheets & Transfers

To ensure consistent results and avoid production delays, all artwork must meet the requirements below. We print files exactly as submitted. Incorrect files will result in incorrect prints.

File Format Requirements

All artwork must be submitted as:

  • PNG format

  • Transparent background

  • 300 DPI resolution

  • RGB color mode

  • Final size set correctly in inches

Do not upload screenshots, compressed images, or low-resolution web graphics.

If your file is 72 DPI or pixelated, it will print that way.

Artwork Sizing Rules

Your design must already be built at the exact print size before uploading.

For example, if you need a 12-inch wide print, your file must be created at 12 inches wide at 300 DPI.

We do not resize artwork unless specifically requested before production begins.

Scaling up small artwork will reduce quality and create blurry edges.

Background Transparency

Your file must have a fully transparent background.

Common mistakes:

  • White background instead of transparent

  • Drop shadows extending outside artwork

  • Hidden background layers

If a background exists in the file, it will print.

Always double-check transparency before exporting.

Line Quality & Detail

Very thin lines, small text, and fine details may not transfer cleanly if designed too small.

We recommend:

  • Avoiding ultra-thin strokes

  • Keeping small text above readable size

  • Testing complex designs before bulk production

What looks clear on a screen may not translate the same on fabric.

Gang Sheet Layout Guidelines

When submitting a gang sheet:

  • Leave space between designs

  • Do not overlap artwork

  • Confirm total sheet dimensions

  • Ensure all designs have transparent backgrounds

Incorrect layout spacing can cause cutting and production issues.

You are responsible for layout accuracy.

Color Expectations

All artwork should be submitted in RGB color mode.

Printed colors may vary slightly depending on:

  • Fabric type

  • Heat press settings

  • Ink saturation

  • Screen brightness differences

We do not manually adjust colors unless requested before production.

What We Do Not Fix Automatically

To maintain production speed and consistency, we do not:

  • Remove backgrounds

  • Increase resolution

  • Correct spelling

  • Redesign artwork

  • Reposition elements

Files are printed exactly as uploaded.

Before You Upload – Final Checklist

Confirm the following:

  • File is PNG

  • Background is transparent

  • Resolution is 300 DPI

  • Size is correct in inches

  • Artwork is final and approved

Submitting correct files ensures fast production and predictable results.

Important

Production begins once payment is completed and artwork meets these guidelines.

If your file does not meet requirements, it may delay your order.
