Proper Application for Long-Lasting Results

Correct heat press settings are critical for transfer durability. Most transfer issues are caused by incorrect pressure or temperature, not print defects. Follow these instructions carefully for consistent results.


Recommended Heat Press Settings

Press at 285-300 F using medium to firm pressure for 10–15 seconds. Pressure is the most important factor. The transfer must receive even, firm pressure across the entire design.

Always use a commercial heat press. Home irons are not recommended because they cannot provide consistent pressure.


Step 1: Prepare the Garment

Before applying the transfer, pre-press the garment for 5–7 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. Moisture trapped in fabric can prevent proper adhesion.

Make sure the pressing surface is flat and avoid seams, collars, zippers, or thick stitching areas that can create uneven pressure.


Step 2: Position the Transfer

Place the transfer film on the garment with the design facing down. Ensure it is straight and positioned correctly before pressing.

Do not allow designs to hang off uneven surfaces.


Step 3: Apply Heat and Pressure

Press at the recommended temperature for 10–15 seconds using firm, even pressure.

Do not reduce pressure to protect delicate fabrics. If pressure is too light, adhesion will fail.


Step 4: Peel Method

Follow the peel instructions provided with your order. Some transfers require a hot peel, others require a short cooling period before peeling.

Peel smoothly and evenly in one consistent motion.


Step 5: Final Repress

After peeling, cover the design with a protective sheet and repress for 5 seconds. This step improves durability and wash resistance.


Washing Instructions

For best longevity:

Wash garments inside out in cold water.
Avoid high heat drying.
Do not iron directly on the design.

Proper care extends the life of the transfer.


Common Application Mistakes

Most issues are caused by insufficient pressure, incorrect temperature, skipping the pre-press step, or using an uneven platen surface. Always verify your press temperature with a thermometer and ensure firm pressure across the entire design.

Press-related errors are not considered print defects.
